What does the $12,000 rental charge cover?

The $12,000 rental charge covers a 3-night stay during the months of May, June, July, August, and September. During these months we have a 3-night minimum stay policy with $3,000 each additional night. 

The rest of the year we have a 2-night minimum stay which costs $6,000 with $2,500 each additional night.

Are there any additional costs over and above the cost of the rental?

The additional cost is the $2000 reservation/security deposit that is due at the time of booking. During your rental this deposit becomes the security deposit which is returned to you within 15 days of the end of your rental provided there is no damage to the property.

If your water usage is over 4000 gallons during your event, we'll charge you 20 cents per gallon.

How many people can Dragon's Lodge accommodate?

The maximum number of people our lodge can accommodate is 30.

How many people can attend an event at Dragon’s Lodge?

The maximum number of people that can attend an event at Dragon’s Lodge is 80.

Can we come by and view the lodge before we commit to renting?

We are happy to set up one visit to the lodge for viewing. Please contact our Lodge Manager. During the peek season, viewings can only be accommodated mid-week so as not interrupt a rental.

We ask that you don’t go by the lodge without an appointment as there may be a function in progress.

Do you offer wedding packages?

We don’t offer wedding packages even though the majority of our rentals are for weddings. The lodge is rented out as a complete venue for you to plan your own style of wedding. We are happy to provide you with a contact list of caterers, rental companies, photographers, etc. to help with your planning.

Is there a full-time caretaker at the lodge?

No, there isn’t a full-time on-site caretaker, however our manager lives on Gabriola and is available if needs arise during your stay at the lodge. 

Can we park RV’s or set up tents during our stay?

We’re sorry but we do not allow RV’s or any tents on the property. We are not set up for it.

Is there an outside fire pit we can use?

We will provide some wood to get you started. If there is a fire ban on the island during your stay the manager will advise you.

How many place settings of dishware does the lodge have?

The lodge has 50 place settings of dishes, silverware, and glasses. If you require more, you would be required to rent them.

If you require more than the 50 place settings it’s best if you rent the total amount needed as it’s difficult to separate ours from the rental companies.

How many dining tables and chairs are there?

There are 2 dining tables and 16 chairs. As well, there are 6-3×6 fold up tables and 17 folding chairs.

Is there a barbeque?

Yes, there are 2 barbeques on the deck that are plumbed to a large propane tank.

If we would like to hire a bartender or kitchen assistant, could you recommend someone?

Yes, let us know and we will provide you with a contact number.

Is there a sound system?

Our system is very basic with two speakers in the great room.

Is there a specific time that outside noise as to limited at?

The Gabriola noise bylaw states that NO amplified music outdoors at any time

Is there a dance area?

The furniture in the great room can be moved to provide a dance area.

Can we set up an event tent on the grounds?

Unfortunately, no but Triple T Rentals in Naniamo has 2 tents that fit perfectly on our deck which are great for shade or protection from rain.

Can we bring our pet to the lodge?

We’re sorry but the lodge is a pet-free zone.

When is the final rental payment due and what form of payment do you accept?

The final rental payment is due 60 days prior to your arrival date. We accept cheque, money order or Interact e-Transfer.
